Miasteczko na styku kultur – Cultural Hot Spot UW

The first edition of it took place in May 2019, its aim was to show what a diverse community the University of Warsaw is! It was a unique event because it was not only created for foreign students, but also co-created by them. The town consisted of 3 parts: gastronomic (where the participants of the event could get to know cultures from around the world thanks to the dishes served by the invited food trucks), discussion (as part of the discussion, leading topics for each edition are discussed) and a tent section, where students had stands next to each other Polish learners about a given culture and foreign students who could show where from. Foreign students are a significant group at the University of Warsaw, which is why we wanted the Self-government to create events together with them. The town is another chance to deepen the integration of all groups that make up the University of Warsaw and to promote attitudes related to counteracting discrimination.

The co-organizers of the first edition were: the University of Warsaw, University Volunteer Center, Welcome Point and Orientalia.
